Hanging Pawns' 1..e5
Pre-made chess opening repertoire for Black
Made for Chessbook by Hanging Pawns.
About this repertoire
“If you want to be a strong player, you have to play e4 e5 with both colors”
I’ve had several people tell me this over the years. And it’s absolutely true. A repertoire based around 1…e5 will force you to understand wild, tactical, attacking positions, slow maneuvering ones, long endgames, a hundred different structures, thematic pawn breaks and piece maneuvers, and it will help you build a vast strategic knowledge.
This repertoire covers every major opening like the Spanish, Italian and the King’s Gambit, but it also goes over most weird things White could try to confuse the e5 player.
What it looks like at your rating
Chessbook trims every repertoire to the moves opponents actually play at your level, so the same repertoire is a different size for a 1000 and a 2000. These numbers use the default coverage target of one game in 150; effectiveness and soundness are Chessbook's own scores, explained in the help pages.
